Worship Commission
We foster the liturgical and spiritual life of the parish
by helping strengthen, coordinate, and deepen our
community's faith life.
Greeters
We are especially interested in providing parishioners
and visitors with a sense of welcome and greeting. Greeters
also invite parishioners to carry the offertory gifts at
each mass. Individuals and families are invited to this
ministry. Schedule is flexible.
Ushers
Ushers assist with seating, take up the collection, and
assist with needs during mass. Men and women of the parish
are invited to serve in this ministry. Schedule is flexible.
READERS
Readers (Lectors) proclaim scripture readings during the Liturgy
of the Word at all weekend masses, as well as lead the
congregation in the Prayers of the Faithful and make necessary
announcements. Parishioners high school age and above are
invited to serve. Training is provided on an as-needed basis.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
Special ministers assist with the distribution of Communion at
Mass. Some take the Eucharist to the sick and to shut-ins (see
Outreach Commission). Candidates must be at least 16 years of
age and be able to attend a training program. Training is
provided on an as-needed basis.
SERVERS
The
opportunity to serve at the Eucharistic Table is open to adults
and children fifth grade and above. Training is provided &
schedule is flexible.
LITURGICAL ENVIRONMENT TEAM
Parishioners prepare the worship space with fabric, flowers, and
other objects for various liturgical seasons and rituals. New
members are always welcome.
MASS COORDINATORS
This
ministry assists in making sure all is ready for Sunday Mass.
Coordinators check that vessels or objects for Mass are put out,
and that ministers have arrived. Schedule is flexible.
LITURGY COMMISSION
This
group meets to oversee liturgical ministry development, to plan
general liturgical seasons, and to serve as an advisory body to
the pastor in liturgy matters. Members are chosen through a
discernment process.
CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Occasionally, school-age children are dismissed from Mass to
participate in a separate Liturgy of the Word designed for
them. This takes place during the 10:30 Mass and is led by
volunteers from the community (see Formation Commission).
EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
Solemn Exposition is scheduled on the First Friday of each month
from 8:30 AM until 12:00 Noon. Parishioners are asked to sign
up on the preceding Sunday for a half hour period of Adoration.
ROSARY PRAYER GROUP
The
rosary prayer group meets on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM in
the Chapel. The rosary is also prayed before 8:30 AM Masses on
Sundays, starting at 8:00 AM.
EMAIL & TELEPHONE PRAYER CHAIN
Parishioners pass the word when one of our members is sick or
has a special need. Call the Parish Office to request prayer for
a special
intention.
