ADMINISTRATION   }

Administration Commission

We give direction to the overall administration of the parish and assist in planning for future growth and expansion by coordinating the efforts of these groups to ensure all are working toward the same purpose.

Stewardship Council
The mission of the Stewardship Council is to foster increased participation by the parish and parishioners, making it easy for ALL members to share their Time, Talent, and Treasure.  We encourage everyone to be actively involved in our parish.

There are two Signature Events sponsored and managed by the
Stewardship Council:

· Holy Spirit Annual Stewardship Appeal – This event is held in February-March of each year.  It involves reaching out to EVERY member of our parish through prayer, lay testimony, written communication, and personal contact to encourage them to make an annual pledge to the parish.  .

· Holy Spirit Annual Ministry Fair – This event will be held the weekend after Labor Day in September each year in our multi-purpose room after all Masses that weekend.  It involves reaching out to EVERY member of our parish to encourage them to give of their Time and Talent to help our parish accomplish all of the good works possible within our community.

Gardening Team
This is a group of home gardeners who enjoy sharing their enthusiasm with each other and with the Parish. There is no regular meeting schedule. During the year, members take care of various projects around the church. Future goals include development of a cutting garden to provide flowers for the church, and a meditation garden for quiet prayer. This group’s focus is areas near church entrances.

SCRIP
SCRIP cards are merchandise cards that can be used just like cash. Holy Spirit will order gift cards and then sell them to you for face value. You can purchase gift cards that are used just like cash for a variety of stores. So, there is no cost to you. You would be spending the money at a particular retailer anyway so why not purchase a gift card to make your purchase with instead. They also make great gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and more. Save yourself a trip to your favorite department store, restaurant or book store. We have about 30 cards in stock and available each weekend after all the masses. There are several others to choose from that you can order on the weekend at church to have available the following weekend after mass. There are hundreds of vendors that participate in this program nationwide. The church receives a percent of the sale varying from 2% to 15% depending on the company. For a complete listing of participating retailers visit their website www.glscrip.com

Annual Dinner/Auction
Beginning in 2005 Holy Spirit has hosted a benefit dinner/auction,
raising money for campus projects outside the normal budget.  The first five years have generated over $120,000.00 in net profits which have been used for the digital bell systems, lights for the steeple, the front fountain, landscaping projects, riding lawn mower and air conditioning projects in the all purpose room and meeting rooms.  Profits have also been tithed to several local charities including the Spirit of Giving, Hope House, One Good Meal and Hillcrest Ministries.  Watch for the next dinner auction each November. Contact the parish office if you are interested in donating an auction item or becoming a member of the dinner auction committee.

COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
The Communications Committee implements multiple, efficient and cost effective methods of communication to the Parish. The committee meets once a month and provides guidance on the church bulletin, parish website, and other communications and IT items of the Parish.

A/V ATTENDANT VOLUNTEERS
We are asking for volunteers to support the choir and sound system for weekend masses and special events.  Interested individuals must have good PC knowledge as the control system is via laptop. The system allows for an individual to continue to attend mass with their family. Training will be a weekday evening session of no more than an hour and one session during a choir rehearsal on a Thursday evening.  The exact times will be worked out amongst the
volunteers.  Scheduling of need will be similar to how the ushers are scheduled.

BULLETIN
The Parish Bulletin is the primary weekly publication by which parishioners receive information about parish news, activities, and liturgies. Bulletin items are due on the Tuesday before the Sunday you want your item in the bulletin.

WEBSITE
The parish website, located at http://www.holyspiritcatholicchurch.net, is a great way to keep up with current events in the parish.  A monthly calendar, the weekly bulletin, sign-up forms, and links to other pertinent sites are among the features of the website. The site continues to grow as more information is added.

WINGS NEWSLETTER
Holy Spirit Parish publishes this newsletter from August through May for all parishioners. If you have an article you’d like to include, whether it be plain text or text and pictures, please submit it to the Parish Office no later than the 15th day of the month prior to publication. You may bring items to the Parish Office in person, fax to the office, or email. A Committee meets monthly to plan for upcoming newsletters.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Parishioners are needed to take photos at parish functions. A list is kept at the office of those who are available. The church owns a digital camera you can borrow, or you may use your own.
