The Pastoral Council is a partnership with
the Pastor, a Representative of the Parish Staff and Parish
Representatives. This Council, in collaboration with the
Pastor, provides a) strategic vision and high level goals in
order to meet the pastoral needs of the parish and b)
guidance to the Pastor in the form of advice and practical
assistance to ensure that the vision and goals are realized.
The Pastoral Council is also a focal point
for the Ministry Councils that manage specific parish
activities and events. Each Ministry Council has a liaison
on the Pastoral Council who provides a means of
communication and coordination among the various
organizations and committees. The seven Ministry Councils
are:
Building & Grounds
Communication / PR / Marketing
Community Concerns
Education and Faith Formation
Family Life
Stewardship
Worship
Pastoral Council members serve overlapping
three-year terms to insure a controlled transition when
current members leave and new members are added. This
Council is more formal than the Ministry Councils and as
such is seen as the primary unit for reviewing and promoting
major parish decisions.
