The Knights of Columbus
is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was
formed by Fr. Michael J. McGivney to render financial aid to
members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are
offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their
families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted
among members and their families through educational,
charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public
relief works.
Knights
are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are
committed to making their community a better place, while
supporting their Church. Being a Knight is more than
camaraderie, it is being involved with your community; it is
supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your
own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family
life. Does this sound like the person you are or would like
to be?
Since
its founding, the Knights of Columbus has evolved into an
organization that fills your heart and your mind with the joy
of giving to others and the feeling of making a difference.
The Knights of Columbus has grown from one council with
several members to more than 10,000 councils with 1.7 million
members. Ask a Knight what it means to him to be a member.
Imagine being a part of such an organization yourself!
The
Knights of Columbus Council at Holy Spirit meets the first
Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM. We would like to help you become part
of our Council.
