The purpose of this Ministry Council is to coordinate and implement all elements of the care, maintenance and improvements needed or desired relative to all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and grounds-keeping aspects of parish-owned facilities.  This council makes a concerted effort to perform in a timely fashion to insure minimal disruption to parish activities and to reduce the financial impact caused by lack of attention.

Volunteerism from the parish at large is encouraged, and reliable, established vendors are employed for those projects requiring expert assistance.  Control of expenditures with a concerted effort to maintain an attractive, family-friendly environment is key to the council’s success.

This Ministry Council is divided into three areas: Landscaping and Groundskeeping, Custodial Services and Lawn and Parking Lot Maintenance.  Listed here are the routine tasks undertaken by this group of dedicated parishioners.

Projects / Responsibilities

• Mowing & trimming grass

• Maintaining shrubs, trees and flower gardens

• Snow removal and parking lot maintenance

• Routine and preventative maintenance of building and equipment

• Custodial projects other than routine work performed by staff

• Monitoring facility maintenance projects

• Support of other parish activities requiring special preparation

This is a group of home gardeners who enjoy sharing their enthusiasm with each other and with the Parish. There is no regular meeting schedule. During the year, members take care of various projects around the church. Future goals include development of a cutting garden to provide flowers for the church, and a meditation garden for quiet prayer.
