office hours? |

I want to
become involved at Holy Spirit. Where do I start?
|
|
A |
If you have an
emergency, you can reach Fr. Tierney by calling him at the
Office, 537-6990 x304. When he is not in the office, calls to
voicemail are forwarded to his cell phone. |

Involvement in
the Parish, beyond Sunday mass attendance, will help you get
to know us better. Training and support for liturgical
ministries, such as Lector, altar server, CFP teacher, and
confirmation leader, is provided. More information on our
current ministries and activities is available in the Parish
Directory. Liturgical ministries are coordinated by Carol
Mathews, 537-6990 x309. |

Q |
A family member is in
the hospital. Can Father visit? |
Q |
Does the Parish
participate in any charitable works in the community? |
|
A |
Federal HIPPA laws
require that patients give permission upon entering the
hospital to have a nurse or chaplain call the Parish Office
and notify us that they were admitted. Upon notification, we
can arrange for a pastoral visit. |
A |
Our Parish participates
in the St. James Soup Kitchen. We also collect non-perishable
food items for the food pantry at Lee's Summit Social
Services. Parishioners also participate in the annual
Christmas in October project which helps repair homes in the
Kansas City area. |

evenings. Register for any of these classes during the Fall of
the school year, or contact Mary Kay Ryan at the Parish Office

The parish’s CFP
religious education program offers a preschool on Sunday
mornings during the regular CFP calendar year, September to
April. This class takes place during the 9:30 AM Mass for
pre-kindergartners. Enrollment must be completed through the
Parish Office. Appletree Academy, a private preschool, rents
space in our building. They offer preschool sessions on
weekdays. Contact Jan McDonough at 537-5659 for more

Q |
I’m an adult and I was
baptized Catholic. However, I’ve never been confirmed. What
can I do? |
Q |
A close friend or family
member needs prayer. Is there a prayer network at Holy Spirit? |
|
A |
The Diocese of
Kansas City-St. Joseph offers Confirmation of adults once a
year, in June. This is intended for practicing adult Catholics
over the age of 21, who were never confirmed in their youth.
Information is posted in our parish bulletin several months
before the liturgy. Some preparation is required.

Q |
I want to make
my Sunday contributions by credit card or EFT. Is this
possible? |
Q |
What are your
parish boundaries? If I don't live within your boundaries, can
I still register as a parishioner? |
|
A |
Yes!
Download an enrollment form, or take one from the
vestibule of church. Forms are also available at the Parish
Office. After you’ve
completed your form, you may drop it in the collection basket
or mail to the Parish Office. |
A |
Approximate
boundaries are: Raytown Road to the west, Scherer Road
to the north, Route 7 to the east, and Route 58 to the south.
You may still register as a parishioner if you live outside
these boundaries. Parish
boundaries may be a concern when attempting to register a
child in a Catholic school within another parishes’
boundaries. Check with the school to see if your child’s
enrollment is affected. |
